Weekend Travels

When we got married and became Team Rothenberger, we knew we wanted our home to be a place of comfort and laughter and love. A place where our families and friends felt welcome and relaxed. And that's why we work so hard on making our house into a home. It's because of the people that are a part of it.
But we hold fast to the principle that even though we want a beautiful and inviting home, we value our relationships with people more. So instead of working on our house projects this weekend, we packed up our bags and spent time with our family and friends.

All this was to say that I don't have any house progress to share. And I may not for a few days... but I've got memories to last a lifetime. And that's better than any wreath in my book.

What did you do this past weekend? Any one else take a weekend trip?

  1. I completely get where you're coming from. I went to DC this weekend to visit 2 of my best buds who just bought a fixer upper house. There were so many things I could have done at home, none of which were important, so I'm glad I took the weekend to visit them.

  2. That is a beautiful photo; the moment was really captured!
This weekend Kevin and I relaxed, but we did manage to work on our dining room a bit =) I am definitely looking forward to spending all day with family on Thursday-no house projects!!

  4. @ Brandi - Oh DC! I went there for a weekend when I turned 21 with my momma. I loved that city - so much to do! Hope you had a great trip!

  5. Where did you have your reception, that the tables were like that?

  6. @ Melanie - We had our wedding/reception at Justin's family's farm. The head table was made for us by Justin's dad out of tree stumps and old barn boards, that's why it looks different from the rest. :)

  7. Ditto. With our parents coming to our house tomorrow for Thanksgiving, I should have been home this weekend getting things ready. Instead, I few up to Indiana to throw a baby shower for my sister. Totally worth scrambling for things to post this week!
